The image was taken from the bluff at the Pittock Mansion in the West Hills. Portland is one of the few cities whose classic skyline view is from above. Our richest citizens were able to view their factory or apartment building from their living room above the city. Mt. Hood in the distance was a bonus, promised by the real estate agent but usually only appearing every few days.
